Baroness Nosheena Mobarik
Chair and Non Executive Director
Baroness Mobarik offers high-level legislative and commercial leadership to our board. Her background in international business and policy is vital for establishing Sutherland as a premier global launch destination, providing the strategic oversight and robust governance needed to guide this complex project toward success.
Alderman Professor Emma Edhem
Non Executive Director
Emma brings legal, diplomatic and strategic expertise, with an active involvement in the space sector. She is a Professor in Practice at Durham University’s Space Research Centre and Law School, serves on the OpenUK Space Advisory Board and advises Space Aye. She previously served as the Lord Mayor’s Aldermanic Envoy for Space Technology and Innovation and has given evidence to the House of Lords on UK engagement with space. Her experience supports Sutherland Launch Limited’s approach to governance, national resilience and international partnerships.
Dave Mackay AFC

A decorated aviator and former Chief Pilot at Virgin Galactic, Dave Mackay brings unmatched mastery of spaceflight operations. His deep background in flight testing and operational safety is essential for creating a vertical launch facility that meets the highest standards of safety and efficiency worldwide.
